The IPHYS mechanical workshop has been training polymechanics for several years now, with excellent results.
This year, we have 2 polymechanic apprentices who took part in the FRAISA competition, which consists of manufacturing precise parts according to a given plan and demanding times, in the fields of conventional or CNC machining, which are highly demanding, thus demonstrating their ability to carry out this work brilliantly while fully managing any stressful situation that may arise.
The Fraisa ToolChampions competition supports the next technology generation by inviting around 1000 talented professionals from all over the country to take part in a fair competition. As part of the selective Swiss championship, polymechanics, micromechanics and production mechanics present what they have learned during their training, affirming the niche of our precision industry with commitment and a keen sense of quality.
Our two candidates were Mr. Loan Mingard (3rd year polymechanic apprentice) and Mr. Julien Verdet (1st year polymechanic apprentice who is doing his training over 3 years instead of 4). They both got the following results:
- Mr. Loan Mingard – CNC competition, 3rd place at the Romand level.
- Mr. Julien Verdet – Conventional competition, 3rd place in the Swiss final.
Once again, we would like to warmly congratulate our two polymechanic apprentices, Loan and Julien, on their magnificent performances in the FRAISA ToolChampions 2022/2023 competition.
We wish them great success in their remaining careers at EPFL and in their future lives.
