Two best apprentices trained at IPHYS

For his individual practical work, Florian Monnier finalized the development of a programmable CVD growth reactor. This allowed the graphene growth parameters to be carefully optimized. EPFL scientists now have high-quality graphene available for their research activities. With an average of 5.8 on all practical and theoretical exams, Mr. Monnier is the best Physics Laboratory apprentice in Romandie.
As part of his work for the final exam of the polymechanic apprenticeship, Jeremy Imboden has developed, built and assembled a CNC milling machine. This machine allows electronics technicians to produce prototypes of printed circuits. At the end of this practical project and the theoretical exams, Mr. Imboden obtained the best overall average in the canton with a mark of 5.7.
The training of apprentices is a tradition at IPHYS. Currently, 8 apprentices are being trained in the scientific and technological platforms of the institute.
